The World Transformed is about thinking big. It’s about imagining radical change and planning how to make it happen. And it’s about doing it together.
We’re a 4-day politics, arts and music festival running alongside the Labour Party Conference in Brighton, working to build left power both inside and outside of Parliament.
Since 2016 we’ve been mixing big names with the most inspiring grassroots voices from all over the world, tackling topics that others overlook. TWT is a space for everyone - from seasoned campaigners to people who are brand new to politics.
TWT19 is about pushing the boundaries of what political participation looks like. Strategy games, treasure hunts, parades, reading groups, and theatre workshops will be at the heart of the programme. At TWT19 we will be practising a kinder and more generous form of discussion and encouraging a politics based on creativity, open mindedness and comradeship. We want to transform the way we learn together.
As much as anything, TWT19 is about setting a radical agenda for the Corbyn project and beyond. Four years on, we’ll be taking stock, asking: how is it going and where do we go next? At TWT19, we’ll be thinking together about the future of our movement and how we can make it stronger.

The festival is taking place in Brighton across eight main venues:

We can guarantee the following things at TWT:
- Wheelchair accessible venues and arrangements for those with mobility requirements
- Child-friendly venues throughout the festival and a crèche for children over two on Saturday and Sunday
- Some affordable travel, accommodation and food options
If you would like to see a more comprehensive accessibility plan, if you would like to find out more about a certain arrangement, or if you have any particular accessibility or dietary requirements that you want us to know about, please get in touch by emailing logistics@theworldtransformed.org.
- If you’re on Facebook, we have set up a carpool group here where people can link up with drivers who are going from the same area as them.
- Depending where you are travelling from, it may be cheaper to travel by train or by coach - we would recommend checking outNational Express and Megabus if you are coming from further away than the South East of England! And remember that since the beginning of this year 26-30 Railcards are a thing, so if you’re lucky enough, you may be eligible for 1/3 off in train tickets!
Brighton will be buzzing with activity during The World Transformed. Here are a few options for accommodation during those busy days:
- We have secured a limited amount of basic communal accommodation for festival goers on a budget - you can find out more info and buy tickets online. You will be required to bring your own mat and sleeping bag!
- We have set up a TWT Brighton group in couchsurfing.org, for local activists and visitors to pair up for a couch or a spare bed. You can join the group here. We also recommend you to check the TWT guide to a good couchsurfing experience (a compilation of good tips that it’s worth having a look!)
- There are a number of youth hostels that offer affordable accommodation in Brighton - you can check in sites such as Hostelworld.com
- Brighton has a number of campsites that have good facilities and are at easy reach from central Brighton (most of them easily accessible by car). One that it’s particularly easy to get to is the Brighton Caravan Club Site, situated less than 30 minutes away by public transport from our main venue in The Old Steine Gardens, or 45 minutes if you chose to take a morning/evening stroll.
- For those who don’t mind commuting into Brighton, here’s a list of nearby towns where you may be able to find affordable accommodation: Shoreham-by-Sea, Saltdean/Rottingdean, Lewes (good train connection), Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Worthing (good train connection), and Falmer (good train connection).
